“There are two aspects to the path of ECK [ECKANKAR, The Path of Spiritual Freedom]. First of all, Soul is individual; we are each unique, divine particles of God. That’s fine as far as it goes, but there is also a second principle: individuals to be truly spiritual must become Co-workers with God. That means to serve others.”
—Harold Klemp, We Come as Eagles, Mahanta Transcripts, Book 9, Pg. 61
“What’s the purpose of service?
So often you’ll hear me say, ‘Soul’s mission is to serve life.’ Some people who have yet to get more of the experience of divine love in their own life—say, ‘How dull. It doesn’t sound like a very interesting thing to do. Life comes but once. We should make the best of it. And what is this ‘serve life, serve God’ stuff?’
Basically, it’s helping people. It’s helping them do the things that the need to make life easier for them.
And in so doing, you are working for the Holy Spirit. In so doing, you are working for the good of other people. And in so doing, you are doing much good for yourself.”
—Harold Klemp, The Road to Spiritual Freedom, Mahanta Transcripts, Book 17, Pg. 18
“Those who have reached Mastership simply want to serve the SUGMAD [God]; that’s all they care about.
There is nothing in it for them—except life.
To give is to live, and this is why I talk about service. If you want to live more spiritually, then you must give more and more in the way of service to all life.”
—Harold Klemp, How the Inner Master Works, Mahanta Transcripts, Book 12, Pg. 23
